The Silverstone Festival was a very busy weekend for British Racing Motors. Not only were we welcoming our Paddock Pass Members across the three days but also we had guests, sponsors, the first showing of our new retail space and of course the first time in a generation the V16 has run in public at Silverstone.
The lead-up to the event was extremely full on as we learned how to use Silverstone’s ticket system, which once you did it a few times was very straight forward. We had 100 guests and members come and join us, which was great to see and on hand from BRM was Paul Owen with Zuzu and Isy manning our new retail space.
Talking of our retail space, we are delighted to welcome Instant Marquees to the BRM family as they pulled off an amazing feat in turning round our new fully branded Ezy Up with mounted flags in a short timescale. This bit of kit is significantly stronger than others on the market, with thicker material and a unique way of holding the flags with their clamping system, which made us stand out from the crowd in a very busy International Paddock.
We had lots of merchandise on offer as well as the launch of our new V12 Membership Package.
Alongside our new space was the star of the show, the BRM V16 which was on static display on Friday and Saturday. Sunday was the big day with Rob Hall taking to the wheel in the mid-afternoon for a very special run around the Silverstone Circuit which was celebrating 75 years of motorsport.
There was lots of chatter about the car, with many staying late to hear it take to the track, which it did not disappoint. You could hear the V16 coming long before it appeared and blasted down the Hamilton Straight past the International Paddock.
It was a very special weekend, complimented by three other BRM’s running with Philip Buhofer and Graham Adelman driving P261s and Andy Willis driving a P48.
Our next stop is Goodwood Revival.
