It’s all hands to the pump as we gear up for one of our biggest events of BRM’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations at Shelsley Walsh’s Classic Nostalgia Weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
A massive thank you to our 60th Anniversary Partners, Motul, and our Sponsors, Colchester Machine Tool Solutions and Genus, without whom the event would not have been possible.
We are set to welcome 20 or so BRMs to the Worcestershire Countryside, with at least half of them heading up the Hill for parades and demonstration runs through the weekend.
A similarly large thank you goes to all the car owners and preparation teams for supporting the event and our celebrations, and many will be on hand over the weekend to share the history of the cars with BRM fans both new and old.
We are delighted that at least one example of each of BRM’s Grand Prix winning cars will be present, from a P25 that secured that first victory with Jo Bonnier at Zandvoort in 1959, through to a 1972 Marlboro liveried P160 as driven by Jean- Pierre Beltoise at Monaco to secure the last of BRM’s Grand Prix victories.
We are also set to welcome a number of BRM alumni, including Drivers, Designers, Team and Family Members, as well as some of BRM’s escapades into sports cars (Rover BRM Gas Turbine 1965 Le Mans Car, Pedro Rodriguez Can-AM car from the early ‘70’s) and road cars (a rare example of Mike Spence’s Lotus Elan BRM), as well as some other intriguing ‘sidelines’.
And our course, we will be bringing our own P15 Mark 1 V16 to create a little bit of added sound…we can’t wait, and we hope to see you there!
